Micropiles

Micropiles transfer tension or compression as well as cyclic loads into the ground via skin friction.

The Titan self drilling micropiles have been approved by DIBt (Deutsches Institute fur Bautechnick) for permanent applications. The DIBt are the German equivalent of the BBA (British Board of Agreement), both of which are members of the EOTA (European Organisation for Technical Approvals)

The Titan hollow bar simultaneously acts as the drilling rod, injection tube and reinforcement for the Micropile. The Titan system can be used in any type of soil, including unstable soils, without the need for temporary casings.

Injecting a cement grout through the hollow steel tendon ensures that the borehole is filled from the bottom to the top. Additional operations such as inserting and extracting casings and complex multi-stage grouting are unnecessary.

The system is fast, simple and flexible. The same process applies to all soil types. The installation minimises noise, vibration and waste spoil. There are many potential applications, including foundations, underpinning, resisting uplift, dynamic/cyclic load applications and geothermal installations.

Dynamic pressure grouting of the TITAN Microiple produces a grout body that interlocks with the surrounding subsoil. TITAN hollow steel tendons satisfy the main requirements for the steel reinforcing bars, which means that an excellent shear bond is achieved between the tendon and the grout body. Controlled crack widths of less than 0.1mm within the grout guarantees permanent corrosion protection and therefore TITAN Micropiles can be used in permanent applications without the need for additional corrosion protection measures.

Ischebeck NZ also stock factory applied galvanised and duplex bar and accessories for additional peace of mind. INOX stainless steel is also available from Germany. 

Seismic retrofitting

Seismic retrofitting is an economic way to structurally reinforce existing buildings. TITAN Micropiles can be installed in basements with limited head room and next to existing walls without compromising the required depth of the microiple.

Tower Foundations

Ischebeck TITAN Mirocpiles are the perfect solution for power transmission line towers, telecommunications towers or other structures with similar shape. The installation does not need large site establishment and can be easily installed in remote areas with changing soil properties. The Ischebeck TITAN Microiples can take compression, tension and cyclic loads. Our couplers are proven to take more than 2 million load cycles.
